Giant Releases 2017 Financial Results, Revenue Continues to Decline

Giant recently released its 2017 financial report. Compared to its 2016 results, Giant still experienced a decline in revenue last year. However, the situation in 2018 seems to be better than the previous two years. The cumulative revenue for January-February this year was 287 million US dollars, which is higher than 2017. Year-on-year increase of 1.7%. The increase was mainly due to the continued increase in sales of E-BIKE in the European market. However, traditional bicycles still show a downward trend.

Specific financial data: The total operating income was 1.89 billion U.S. dollars, compared with approximately 1.953 billion U.S. dollars in the previous fiscal year, 2.07 billion U.S. dollars in 2015, and approximately 100 million U.S. dollars in profits. The EPS of NT$5.48 was significantly lower than that of the previous two years, but it is still higher than the number of bicycle companies listed on the Taiwan stock market.
